Developing a strong affinity for reggae as a child, Dubmatix was first introduced to the sounds of King Tubby in his late-teens which helped usher in a strong passion for dub. The deep throbbing bass lines, echo-laden flying cymbals and sparse interplay of horns, guitar and vocals created an entirely new world of music that has remains an important aspect in his music today.

" Champion Sound Clash " manages to maintain at all times the most important features of these styles: irresistible grooves, hedonistic vibes, and subtle acknowledgements of dub-house veterans like Dreadzone, Zion Train...Pure roots riddims, appearances from BILL KING (renound Canadian jazz pianist, Capitol Records) for the organ solos, crisp digital production; all the ingredients are there to unite the hypnotic warmth of dub with the festive rhythms of electro.
